Tempranillo is a black grape variety widely grown to make full-bodied red wines in its native Spain. Its name is the diminutive of the Spanish temprano ("early"), a reference to the fact that it ripens several weeks earlier than most Spanish red grapes. Flavors can include berries, plum, tobacco, vanilla, leather and herb. Monastrell is a deeply bold, smoky red wine found in abundance in Central Spain and Southern France (where it's known as Mourvèdre). Monastrell is the "M" in the Rhône / GSM blend. In this tasting experience, we are going to compare the two noble varieties!
The Curious Palate is a tasting experience that is designed for the taster who wants to take their personal wine experience to a new level by building knowledge...while having fun! What is the difference between drinking and tasting...and does it matter? How does what’s in your glass pair with food? How can you elevate any event with a little more flavor? While Michaela take her studies and classes seriously, she strives to make each tasting delightful and dynamic!
This experience is a 90 minute tasting adventure that will be located at G44 Gallery beginning at 6:00pm and includes friendly and professional instruction, tasting of 4 wines paired with food bites, and a takeaway note sheet. Space is limited; advanced paid reservations are required.
