You say "Shiraz," I say “Syrah.” But wait, then there is Petite Sirah. What’s happening here? Well, in France, Syrah is responsible for big red wines…and in Australia and South Africa it goes by Shiraz…and here in the U.S. you’ll find both names. Then, there is Petite Syrah. No, it isn’t the smaller, gentler sibling to Syrah/Shiraz; it’s a whole different grape with its own personality. So to be fair to all the serious varieties under these confusing names, we will explore all them all!
The Curious Palate is a tasting experience that is designed for the taster who wants to take their personal wine (or spirits) experience to a new level by building knowledge...while having fun! What is the difference between drinking and tasting...and does it matter? How does what’s in your glass pair with food? How can you elevate any event with a little more flavor? While we take our studies and classes seriously, we strive to make each tasting delightful and dynamic!
To keep your curiosity piqued, the location of this tasting experience will be released to participants about 5 days before the event. This experience is a 90 minute tasting adventure beginning at 6:00pm and includes friendly and professional instruction, tasting of 4 wines paired with food bites, and a takeaway note sheet. Space is limited; advanced paid reservations are required.
